Microchips

Nearly 1 in 3 pets will get lost in their lifetime. Without ID, 90% will never return home. Most owners are devastated when they are unable to find their pets, but fortunately, there is a solution. By microchipping your pets, you can avoid that inescapable feeling of loss if your pets go missing.

“A microchip provides secure, reliable, and permanent identification, which greatly increases the likelihood that your pet, if lost, will be returned home to you. Anytime a pet is lost, veterinarians, police stations, and shelters know to scan for a microchip.

At Brooklyn, we partner with Home Again®, a leader in pet identification and reunification. We can microchip your pet at any age, but we recommend microchipping as early as possible and typically perform the painless procedure during your pet’s spay or neuter. The chips we use are barely larger than a grain of rice, and we use the smallest needles possible for implantation.

It should be noted that a microchip only does its job if it is registered with up-to-date contact information in a pet recovery database. However, at Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic, there’s no long, drawn-out registration process. Our staff will register you at the time of the chip’s implantation, ensuring a quick and smooth process for a lifetime of security.
