Dr. Renée Johnson, DVM

Dr. Renée Johnson is originally from New Mexico but moved to Colorado in 2003 and never looked back.  She began her career in veterinary medicine when she graduated from Colorado’s own Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2005 and worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician full time while going to school part time.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 from Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 from Colorado State University.

Professionally, Dr. Johnson has strong interests in soft tissue surgery, radiology, dentistry, and preventative medicine.  Her favorite part of her job is building relationships with clients who love their animals like members of their family.

Dr. Johnson lives in beautiful Larkspur in a home tucked in the trees with her husband and two children. They share their property with a plethora of wildlife and have a variety of recreational and sports vehicles.  Outside of her work life, Dr. Johnson enjoys snowboarding, camping, and exploring beautiful Colorado with her family. Dr. Johnson is so excited to be working at a hospital where she can serve the Castle Rock community and will always strive to cultivate long-term relationships with our clients and their beloved pets.
