She spent 13.5 years as faculty at Veterinary Teaching Hospitals at Kansas State, Auburn University and Virginia Tech, teaching veterinary students practical veterinary medicine. Dr. Gaughan became a board certified specialist of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners – Canine and Feline Practice in 1998 and must re-certify every 10 years to maintain her credentials. American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
Professional interests include mentorship, internal medicine and client communication and education. When she isn’t working, Dr. Kathy can be found outside – running (maybe more of a slow jog these days), gardening, camping, and most recently, beekeeping – and with her family.
The Gaughan Ranch is home to horses, dogs, chickens, bees, and cats (as well as free-loading deer and grasshoppers).
